Karen Starrett
Karen Starrett is a painter, curator, and teaching artist. Her studio is located in the Jersey Shore Arts Center, Ocean Grove, NJ. Starrett has a B.A. from Rutgers University and is an alumnus of School of Visual Arts. Her work has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in the NY metro area as well as published in literary and medical journals.
“In my paintings, I seek a connection between invisible feeling and external imagery. For a painting to be successful there has to be a synthesis of color, form, and inner vision. My imagery evolves through a process of working on the painting into something that has personal meaning and identifiable imagery.”
