Ryan Cobourn's paintings and drawings of nature move freely between representation and abstraction. Drawing from both direct experience and pictorial invention, the paintings straddle the line between what is seen and what is felt, between perception and invention. Ryan Cobourn is represented by Fischbach Gallery in New York City and ACFA Gallery in Louisiana. He is a former member of the Painting Center. His work has been shown at the Pii Gallery and Freeman’s Auction House in Philadelphia and Agittato Gallery in Geneva, Switzerland. In 2009, the Wolf Kahn and Emily Mason Foundation awarded him a grant for his curatorial effort, “Twenty-Five Painters Under Thirty-Five.” He is also recipient of a Pollock-Krasner Foundation grant.
