Robin Feld

In her recent body of work, Feld questions how major life events influence one's art and presumes that how and what one paints is driven by emotional factors interacting with visual concerns.

The feeling of work built over time, the use of a buried grid---pouring, blotting, scraping, to reveal layers of paint---trying to create order out of chaos, continue to be central to her work.  Calligraphic line, which the artist thinks of as akin to nerve endings, is a point of commonality and continuity.

Feld works out of her studio in Brooklyn, New York. Her work has been shown in spaces such as Drawing Rooms in Jersey City, the Fountain Art Fair, Paramount Gallery in Long Island City and the Monmouth Museum. She attended what is now LaGuardia High School, got a BFA at the City College of New York, and studied with various accomplished painters at the Art Students League. @robin_feld
