Leigh Yardley works in acrylic paints, situating herself as a part of the system of landscape. Receiving her MFA from Lesley University, College of Art and Design she has exhibited since 1994. Leigh’s project Convergence of Water in 2015 became the foundational work for her ongoing series Wetlands.
“In my work the interactive encounter in the space of landscape plays a fundamental role. The interconnectivity frames a relationship with a place and the moment. By walking, looking, collecting detritus and using material that becomes an element of that space the work becomes a distillation of the encounter.”
