Emi Avora is a Greek, London trained and Singapore based artist. She studied at the RA schools, London and Ruskin school, Oxford. She exhibited widely including EMST, Athens and The Whitechapel & Royal Academy, London. Her work has been in publications including the NY Times and Defining the Contemporary, Whitechapel.
“Drawing subject matter from public and personal spaces, my works enters a dialog with modernist historical canons while pondering on our ambiguous relationship to colonial narratives, exoticism and taste. With the use of light on the driving seat, the work allows space for invention, hovering between reality and fiction.”
